Designed for the covers of children’s literature and picture books, this is a freehand-style, rounded gothic typeface that conveys warmth and softness. It has also been sold as a font for use in game software.

This typeface departs from the antiquated and orthodox image of the clerical script and offers a flat, simple design. With little trace of brushstrokes, it is a modern take on the clerical script that is often used for TV captions.
古くオーソドックスなイメージを持つ隷書体に対し、フラットでシンプルな書体を目指しました。TVテロップにも使用される、毛筆の名残を極力なくした現代風デザインの隷書体です。扁平で運筆が特徴的な正統隷書体に比べ、やや扁平を緩和し、毛筆の名残を取り除いた新しい隷書体です。現代的にアレンジしているものの、隷書体の雰囲気は保っているので、かなが入った文章でも漢文のような印象に組むことができます。毛筆さび（にじみ・かすれ）や運筆を極力除いていますが、隷書本来の筆の動きや字形を生かして簡略化しているので、隷書体の雰囲気は損なわれていません。

Although it is an orthodox semi-cursive script, kanais designedto besomewhat larger for better line alignmentand istailored to both horizontal and vertical typesetting. Bold can be selected for subheading, body text, or headline.
オーソドックスな行書体ですが、タテ組ヨコ組両方に適した書体となるよう、仮名をやや大きめにデザインし、ライン揃えを意識しました。独特の組み版効果が特徴です。太さに合わせて、小見出し用から本文、大見出し用に活用いただけます。一筆書きの脈絡を多用し、続け書きによる「連綿線」を持つ書体です。行書体の特徴である流れるような筆の運びを表現できるよう心がけました。同じ部首でも「へん」と「つくり」で処理が異なる字があるのは行書体の特徴でもあります。

With an attractive hand-penned style featuring a natural balance between kanji and kana, characters are perfectly aligned whether typeset vertically or horizontally. Leave plenty of space between lines for the best effect.
タテ組・ヨコ組でもラインが揃う、漢字とかなのバランスも自然な手書き風の心地よいペンタッチです。行間をあけてゆったり組むのがおすすめです。硬筆ではなく、行書風の脈絡が生きたペンタッチなので、柔らかでも読みやすい印象の書体です。

The Socho (Song Dynasty-style) typeface is based on a style used for woodblock printing in Song-period China. The SEIBI Socho typeface updates the Song style by making it simpler and sharper. With minimized size variations between kanji and kana, the design is readable both in vertical and horizontal typesetting.
宋朝体の起源は中国の宋の時代に木版印刷に使われた書体です。セイビ宋朝体は、さらにシンプルでシャープなイメージを目指しました。かな、漢字の大小があまりない、タテ組でもヨコ組でも組みやすくデザインしました。本来の宋朝体は骨が細く、右上がりの斜体がかった長体ですが、セイビ宋朝体はそのシャープな特徴を生かしたまま正体に近く、タテでもヨコでも組みやすい書体に仕上げています。毛筆とは違う、木版用書体の彫刻的な堅いエレメントも特徴です。

Originally intended for TV captions, this is a flattened style of font for horizontal typesetting. Although it can be used in vertical typesetting, this universal-design font maximizes legibility by directing the eye naturally along the line of text.
元々TVのテロップを想定した、ヨコ組用の平体デザインのフォントです。タテ組でも使用可能ですが、ヨコ組時に文字を追う視線がスムーズに進むよう考慮した横ラインの揃えと和欧混合文における英数字の視認性を高めたユニバーサルフォントです。エッジを丸みを持たせて、タテ画は太く、ヨコ画は細い明朝体のリズムを取り入れることでデジタルゴシック体特有の堅さや強さを軽減。デジタルフォントでも活字体のような目に優しく読みやすい文字を目指しました。

A Vintage Script for Romance Novels.
Lorette began as a digitization of a film typeface from LetterGraphics known as “Laurel”. The original specimen included standard Capitals, Lowercase, Numerals, and minimal punctuation, for a bare bones character set.
We've fleshed out Lorette to include a full standard character set, an extended international set, Stylistic Alternates, Ligatures, Swash Capitals, etc. so it can be a powerhouse script typestyle.
